It’s hard to believe that Joe Biden’s dog Commander has already been at the White House for five months, but as a viral video of the adorable German Shepherd reveals, time really does fly when you’re having fun!

Shared by President Biden on Twitter over the weekend, the short clip which was captioned with the words “it hasn't taken long for Commander to find his way around the White House,” shows an active Commander happily exploring his palatial home and playing with his favorite toys.

Viewed 1.6 million times and racking up thousands of likes, retweets and comments, the images of a frolicking Commander loving life have proved a huge hit with netizens with many quick to show both Commander and the President some love.

“He is beautiful!!! So grateful to have a compassionate, caring, down to earth, "normal" President back in office. Thank you for all of your efforts,” wrote one user, with another adding “thank you for sharing and for all that you are.”

Born in September of 2021, Commander was adopted by the Biden’s in December after their dog Champ died six months earlier in June. They also endured a sad goodbye to their other German Shepherd, Major, who was sent to live with family friends after he failed to adjust to life in the White House.

But it seems that Commander is having no such problems. In a recent Instagram post captioned “Commander settled right in at the White House. It helps that he thinks he runs the place,” a beaming President Biden is seated next to an equally happy Commander.

From what we can see, it looks like this wonderful dog really is living his best life and we can't wait to see more of his adorable antics!
