Shorter days and colder weather means it’s more important than ever for humans and animals alike to ensure their diet and nutrition is in tip-top shape.

For this reason, the team at PetsRadar have named the coming four weeks “Nutritious November” and we’ll be bringing you a host of advice, reviews and expert features themed around good health, good diet and good food for your animal companions.

Today kicks off with a round up of the best dog food and the best cat food that you can buy and look at what food is safe for guinea pigs to eat, including an answer to the question "can guinea pigs eat grapes?".

Be sure to visit tomorrow and throughout the week for more advice on nutrition including foods that can be safely shared with your cat or dog and a guide to feeding rabbits correctly. We’ll also be asking one of our in-house vets to explain what exactly is in the average bowl of dog food.

If you’ve got any questions you’d like to ask about pet diet and nutrition, be sure to get in touch with us via Facebook or Twitter.
