Is there anything more adorable than dog and duck friends celebrating the festive season together? We think not! And if you’re anything like us, then you’re going to love this video of cute as fluff best buds Barclay and Rudy getting their holiday spirit on.

Chilled out Golden Retriever Barclay and feisty duck Rudy may look like an unlikely pair, but their beautifully deep bond is a joy to witness and reminds us all of what Christmas is really about - love and friendship.

The dynamic duo love nothing more than getting all dressed up in festive clothing and frolicking about in the array of presents stacked under owner Pam Ishiguro’s Christmas tree.

While laidback Barclay is happy to sit calmly and watch things unfold, his far more energetic and spirited friend Rudy loves nothing more than getting in amongst all the action. But even though their approach to the holiday season may differ, the pair agree on one thing - at the end of a long day, nothing beats curling up on the couch together in front of a good Christmas movie.

Watched close to 80,000 times, the sweet video of Barclay and Rudy has been a hit with YouTubers, with one viewer saying: “Aw I used to have pet ducks, they are such adorable creatures!”, while another chimed in with: “What a beautiful friendship, the beautiful duck Rudy is annoying the v patient dog Barclay, this duck is lucky to be with golden retriever dog, it’s obvious they’re having a great Christmas.”

We’re not sure what Barclay and Rudy are up to this year, but we hope the duo are getting into the spirit with Christmas movies, tasty treats and presents that are just asking to be torn apart. Whatever they’re doing, we have a feeling that just being together will be enough for this comical and unlikely pair.
